Techweek Wednesday: Big Data to rule the day

Techweek officially changes gears today, as the inaugural Techweek Kansas City conference + festival morphs into a three-day run of traditional conference format at Union Station. Today’s focus is the Big Data Summit, which opens at 9 a.m. with keynote address by Dr. Bob Rogers, Chief Data Scientist  for Big Data Solutions at Intel Corp.

A total of 13 Big Data-oriented sessions dominate the Techweek agenda today until 5 p.m. For schedule details, see Techweek.com./KansasCity.

The Techweek audience is fresh off a Tuesday afternoon tour of four Downtown technology businesses in the annual Grand Tour, which was sponsored by Copaken-Brooks. Visitors had the opportunity to tour DSI, 1201 Walnut; Valorem Consulting, 2101 Broadway; Sprint Accelerator, 210 w. 19th Terr.; and Think Big Partners, 1712 Main, before settling in for a happy hour at the Corrigan Station, 1828 Walnut.

Here is what’s on tap for Wednesday on the Techweek KC schedule for Techweek attendees:

All Techweek and LaunchKC events are set for greater Downtown, including Union Station, the Power & Light District and venues in the Crossroads Arts District.

Techweek, the nation’s largest technology conference + festival, chose Kansas City in January to be its sixth U.S. hub for its unique and immersive blend of tech learning, collaborating and networking. The other Techweek cities to hold annual conferences + festivals include Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Detroit.
