Downtown office tower stands in for mountain peak in TV commercial
A national “Got milk?” campaign has made a splash in Downtown Kansas City, while taking its message to new heights – literally.
The Kansas City Business Journal reports the national commercial features professional rock climber Kai Lightner scaling a 36-foot-tall climbing wall on the rooftop of the Lightwell office tower in Downtown. It’s not a computer-generated scenario. It’s real.
The new “You’re gonna need milk for that” campaign aims to tout milk as the original sports drink and highlight its natural nutrients that fuel performance. It will be supported with a national media rollout across sports and lifestyle sites, outdoor and in-store advertising, athletic partnerships and more.
For the 30-story office tower at 11th and Main streets, the opportunity to be featured in a commercial arrived at an ideal time.
“We just finished the $22 million renovation of the building, and we are launching into our marketing, so our ears were open to anything that would elevate the awareness of what we’ve done with the building,” said Tim Schaffer, president of AREA Real Estate Advisors, which is Lightwell’s leasing and managing agent.
