#LIGHTITBLUE tonight to honor first responders

Kansas City will join a global effort tonight to light up the Downtown skyline in blue to honor first responders and healthcare workers.

Union Station, the Kauffman Center, and the historic Power and Light Apartments were three of many Downtown buildings to take up the cause by beginning their blue lighting earlier this week.

“Our hope is that Greater Kansas City will participate in support of the extraordinary first responders who are putting their lives on the line each and every day to fight the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to John Sherman, Clark Hunt and Cliff Illig, owners of the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and Sporting KC, who are chairing the local call to action.

“We hope you’ll join us, along with cities all across the globe, to inspire solidarity, gratitude and hope. We are all in this together.”

Join in tonight and #LIGHTITBLUE. Let’s show the world – particularly our  healthcare community and first responders – the spirit of KANSAS CITY STRONG.
