Morning Scoop – Fed introduces new lending program + support for restaurants

KC Carryout Crew supports Downtown area restaurants
Belly up to the curbside, my friends. Step right up.
Downtown area restaurants need our support now. KC eateries are banned from serving dine-in patrons during the stay-at-home period. However, they are allowed to fill delivery, carryout and drive-thru orders.
Here’s how you can help the KC Carryout Crew (a temporary name change for the Downtown Lunch Bunch while we’re staying-at-home):
- Go to CurbsideKC.com and find a participating Downtown dining establishment, and order lunch or dinner today.
- Post a photo on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram, tagging #LunchBunch and the restaurant you ordered from (either carryout or delivery).
- Send a 25-word review to The Scoop at mike@downtownkc.org, so we can share with your extended Downtown family.

Fed launches Main Street Lending Program
The Federal Reserve is providing financing to banks and other lenders to make low-interest loans for those who couldn’t take advantage of the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program.
The MAIN STREET NEW LOAN FACILITY targets small and medium businesses that were in good financial standing before the crisis. Loans will be made through any FDIC-insured depository institution.
Firms seeking these loans must make reasonable efforts to maintain payroll and retain workers. Plus, companies that have taken advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program can also take out Main Street loans.
Applications for these loans will be through banks and other lenders.
