With the keyword from this year’s theme being “evolution”, we will pause to celebrate the incredible transformation of Downtown Kansas City over the last twenty plus years while discussing what’s next because we know there is more to be done and the evolution will continue.

The Downtown Council is pleased to announce city planner and best-selling author Jeff Speck as the keynote speaker for the Downtown Kansas City Annual Luncheon. Based on his experience in city planning, urban design, and the impact of walkability on downtowns, Jeff will share his knowledge about what makes downtowns unique and how cities can continue to make them vibrant and attractive destinations for all.

Spirit of Downtown KC

The Spirit of Downtown KC Exhibit highlights more than 40 organizations, businesses, development projects, and cultural arts programs.

The exhibition will take place at the Kay Barnes Grand Ballroom during the Downtown KC Awards Reception on Thursday, April 11 from 5-7 pm and prior to the Annual Luncheon on Friday, April 12 from 11am-12pm.
