The State of Downtown is presented by the Downtown Council of Kansas City. As Downtown‘s steward and champion, we are launching the premier of this event at the new Origin Hotel, located on the Berkley Riverfront. The event will celebrate Downtown’s incredible transformation into a dynamic mixed-use district as well as highlight updated market and recovery data.

Great downtowns are no longer reducible to offices. Throughout history, they have been the most adaptive and resilient districts in our cities. The pandemic accentuated the need for downtowns to continue to evolve into mixed-use neighborhoods that diversify their land uses while prioritizing livability. Our featured panelists will discuss the new $800 million mixed-use district by Marquee Development and Palmer Square Capital Management which will start construction later this year along the Berkley Riverfront in Downtown Kansas City.
