Our Guide to Shopping Second-Hand Clothing in Downtown KC
By Ruth Holliday, Intern at Downtown Council of Kansas City
Within the past decade, a thriving second-hand clothing community has developed in Downtown Kansas City. Whether you are drawn to second-hand clothing for sustainability, affordability, finding one-of-a-kind pieces, or a mix of all three, we have compiled a list of second-hand clothing stores that range in price and style for Downtown residents and visitors to explore.
Daisy Lee Vintage
Daisy Lee Vintage is located in the center of the Crossroads Art District. Daisy Lee Vintage has become a staple for vintage shopping Downtown. The store primarily offers womenswear, along with a small selection of menswear, featuring unique pieces from the 60s and 70s, 90s fashion essentials, and Y2K streetwear. Some of their vintage pieces have been upcycled into more modern silhouettes and styles but many remain true to their original designs.

Arizona Trading Company
As the newest addition to Downtown’s thrifting scene, we are happy to welcome the Arizona Trading Company to their new location in the Crossroads. Their store offers fashionable but affordable used and vintage clothing for all genders and serves as an outlet for people to sell their clothing. Having outgrown their Westport location, their new Crossroads store is bigger and features accessible off street parking.

If you are interested in vintage men’s streetwear, look no further than The Rex Catalog in the South West Side neighborhood. Founded by an Olathe Northwest high school senior and his older brother, this store carries a variety of vintage hoodies, t-shirts, jerseys, and more. You can expect to see vintage Chiefs and Royals gear, as well as vintage merchandise from various regional colleges in their locally sourced inventory. However, the store recently announced they are moving to the West Bottoms so make sure to keep up with them on their social media accounts and website.
