DTC Annual Luncheon – Save the Date
By Jared Campbell, Resident Engagement Project Manager at Downtown Council of Kansas City
Imagine a beautiful early spring day in Downtown Kansas City. There is still a crispness in the air, but the sun is shining, helping to warm your walk as you and your colleagues make your way to the Kay Barnes Grand Ballroom at Bartle Hall. As you make your way through the front door and up the stairs, your ears pick up the buzz of a thousand voices and your eyes scan the lobby to see table after table of exciting downtown projects. You work your way through the crowd to find your seat, the lights dim, and the video screens come to life with a video celebrating the rebirth of Greater Downtown Kansas City.
Every year, the Downtown Council invites downtown stakeholders and supporters to gather at our annual luncheon to reflect on the past year and learn more about projects and initiatives happening downtown.
In 2024, the luncheon will be held on Friday, April 12th
Highlights of the luncheon include a keynote speaker and/or a panel discussion, remarks from the Mayor of Kansas City, MO, and presentations of the J. Philip Kirk Jr. and Harvey Fried Awards. Don’t forget to come early to the event to enjoy the Spirit of Downtown exhibit fair where businesses, cultural and nonprofit organizations will have booths set up showcasing how they are impacting downtown.
The evening before, there will be a reception to honor this year’s recipients of the Urban Hero awards. These awards have been awarded since 2005 to a small group of individuals or small businesses who are passionate about making Downtown Kansas City a more vibrant place to live, work and play.
This event cannot happen without the generous support of sponsors. We thank the sponsors we have to date and would welcome the opportunity to talk to your business about the opportunity to sponsor the 2024 Annual Luncheon.
