CID Ambassadors are on duty!
The Downtown and River Market Community Improvement District Ambassadors are on duty today – and every day – working to keep the community clean, safe and more attractive even in the face of the coronavirus COVID-19..
The CIDs – through the safety, maintenance and horticulture ambassadors – are dedicated to creating an inviting environment for all who live, work and visit the Central Business District and River Market.
Even during these trying times, the Ambassadors are working in close partnership with the KC Police Department to vigilantly watch over Downtown.
And while City Hall is closed today until 2:30 p.m. for a deep cleaning, KC Police and Fire departments are on duty today and every day.

1) Go to CurbsideKC to arrange for curbside pickup (or carryout or delivery) from your favorite Downtown eatery today. Be sure to tip generously.

Loews delays its opening date
The Loews Kansas City Hotel has opted to delay its opening day amid ongoing social distancing efforts in Kansas City due to the spread of coronavirus
According to today’s KC Business Journal:
“A representative for the hotel released a statement this morning saying the hotel opening, which was originally set for April 2, would be delayed.
“‘In the coming weeks we will release a new date for the opening of Kansas City’s newest hotel, a hotel that we look forward to opening and celebrating with the entire destination of Kansas City.'”

The KC Streetcar serves greater Downtown every day.
Streetcar cuts operating hours
Beginning today (March 20) – in response to COVID-19, the KC Streetcar will temporarily operate with reduced hours:
– Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
– Saturday-Sunday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
The KC Streetcar will continue to operate three streetcars, seven days a week providing important access to grocery stores, critical employment centers, medical facilities, and pharmacy services.
This shift corresponds with recent changes in Downtown activity levels and allows the KC Streetcar team additional time to clean all streetcar vehicles and stops, as well as providing staff important time with their families.
